Karn Jr (Ages 4+ through Mites/U8's)
School year training runs from September through May and can be joined at any time.
- Ages 4+ through Mites/U8's
- 8 students with 2 instructors (5:1 ratio)
- One day per week, 30 minutes
- Rates are prorated based on the skater's start date ($38/lesson) if space allows
- Three sessions:
- January - May (Spring)
- June - August (Summer) (7:1 ratio) On our own ice!
- September - December (Fall)
- Karn Jr. and KSD share the ice Sept-May only

Karn Jr does our best to group by similar ability while taking into consideration age/ability/preferences/siblings/carpools/etc. Please only select options you're able to join as we piece together the jigsaw puzzle while registrations are coming in.

Get your kids started with the best skating training in the Twin Cities!! Our Karn Jr. Program was started by Jodi (Skjei) Karn and her daughter, Kelly Karn! We saw the need for small group instruction for the the younger skaters (4yrs - 8/9 yrs).
Jodi's extensive teaching experience allows for a FUN, accelerated program for young skaters. This is a great place for a young skater to get started without the hockey commitment. We work with beginners (4+ yrs old) with little skating/hockey experience through 8+ yr olds who have already played a few years.
Karn Jr. participants MUST be able to fall and get up all on their own without assistance before joining the program.
With our small group format, we do our best to group kids with others of similar abilities.
Karn Jr. kids graduate to Karn Skating Dynamics (KSD) after they are able to demonstrate specific skating (holding backward outside edges) and stickhandling skills.
